This notice explains how 8Contracts Ltd (“8Contracts”, “we”) processes personal data about website visitors, prospects, clients, and candidates. We act as a data controller for the purposes described below.

1. Who we are

8Contracts Ltd is a company registered in England & Wales. You can reach our privacy team at privacy@8contracts.com.

2. What we collect

Contact details you provide (name, work email, company, role) when you fill in our contact form, sign up, or email us.
Workspace content that clients upload or generate within the 8Contracts platform.
Usage and device data, including IP address, browser type, and page events, collected through essential cookies and server logs.

3. How we use it

To respond to enquiries and arrange onboarding calls.
To deliver the Services under our agreement with you, including producing research, drafts, and profile content.
To operate, secure, and improve the platform (legitimate interests).
To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

4. Lawful bases

We rely on one or more of the following lawful bases under UK GDPR: performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing

We share personal data only with:

Vetted sub-processors who help us run the Services (e.g. cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics).
Professional advisers where required.
Authorities if we are legally required to disclose.

6. International transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it for, and then delete or anonymise it. Client workspace content is retained for the term of your agreement plus a reasonable export window.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights by emailing privacy@8contracts.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner (ico.org.uk).

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep the site working and privacy-friendly analytics to understand what content is useful. We do not use cross-site advertising cookies.
